Meet Charlie

My name is Charlie Starkman and I’m thrilled to be running for Farmington Hills City Council. As a clinical psychologist and native Metro Detroiter, I love where I live and am passionate about advocating for expanded health and wellness resources for our community. I moved to Farmington Hills in late 2018, after completing my doctorate in clinical psychology and currently serve as the Vice Chair of the Farmington Hills Commission on Community Health and am the Assistant Director at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Counseling and Psychological Services office.

I am the Vice Chair of the Michigan Psychological Association’s Early Career Psychologist Committee and a member of the association’s Advocacy Committee. In 2022, I was honored to be named one of the Detroit Jewish News’ 36 under 36, an award that recognizes the contributions of young Jewish adults to the Metro Detroit Community.

“I love where I live and am passionate about advocating for expanded health and wellness resources for my community.”
